Common questions

Is Hame Cycle really free?

Yes. No price, no ads, no in-app purchases, no subscription and no account. Every feature is in the free app.

Do I need an account?

No. Open the app and start logging. Sync uses your own iCloud, through the Apple Account already on your iPhone.

Where is my data stored?

On your iPhone, and in your own iCloud if your iPhone is signed in to iCloud. Your synced logs are encrypted on your iPhone before they're uploaded; with Advanced Data Protection for iCloud turned on, not even Apple can read them. Hame has no servers, so we never can. The privacy policy has the details.

How do I move to a new iPhone?

Sign in to the same Apple Account on the new iPhone and install Hame Cycle. Your logs come back from your iCloud. Your setup answers and settings stay on the old iPhone, so you'll go through setup again.

How do I stop iCloud sync?

Open the iPhone Settings app, tap your name, then iCloud, and switch off Hame Cycle. Your logs then stay only on this iPhone.

How does Hame Cycle estimate my next period?

From your own logs, on your iPhone. It uses your recent cycles, with the most recent counting more. Until you've logged three cycles, it also uses the cycle length you gave in setup. Tap "How this was worked out" on any estimate to see the details.

Why is my next period shown as a range?

Cycles vary, so a single date would promise more than anyone can know. The range is wider when your cycles vary more, and narrows as they settle.

Can I use Hame Cycle as birth control?

No. Hame Cycle is not a method of birth control, and it can't tell you when pregnancy is or isn't possible. A clinician or pharmacist can help you choose contraception.

How does partner sharing work?

In Settings, turn on partner sharing and pick exactly what to share, such as your next period range or pregnancy week. Then send the iCloud invite. Your partner installs Hame Cycle and opens the link, and sees a read-only summary. Tap Stop sharing any time and their access ends.

Does it work with Apple Health?

Yes, if you connect it. Hame can bring in up to two years of periods, symptoms, tests and temperature from Health, and saves what you log back to Health. You choose what it can read and write.

Can I lock the app?

Yes. Turn on App lock in Settings, and Hame Cycle asks for Face ID, Touch ID or your passcode before showing anything. You can also pick a quiet app icon.

Will reminders show private things on my lock screen?

Not by default. Reminders are off until you turn one on, and they say only "Hame reminder" unless you choose otherwise.

How do I export my data?

Go to Settings, then Your data. Export everything as JSON, your main logs as CSV, or make a PDF report for your clinician.

How do I delete everything?

Go to Settings, then Your data, then Delete everything. If Apple Health is connected, you can also remove what Hame saved there. The privacy policy explains how to remove your iCloud copy too.

Is what I read in Hame Cycle medical advice?

No. The articles are general information based on guidance from public health bodies. For advice about your own health, talk to a clinician.
