Hame Cycle privacy policy

Last updated 7 November 2026

In short: Hame Cycle doesn't collect your data. There's no account, no ads, no analytics and no tracking, and Hame has no servers. What you log stays on your iPhone, and in your own iCloud if your iPhone is signed in to iCloud. Your partner sees only what you choose to share, and Apple Health gets only what you allow.

Who we are

Hame Cycle is one of the Hame apps, made by Inja. In this policy, "we" means the people who make Hame. This policy covers the Hame Cycle app for iPhone.

What we collect

Nothing. We don't receive your logs, your settings, your Health data or anything about how you use the app. There's no Hame account and no Hame server to send them to. The app contains no analytics, no advertising, no tracking and no code from other companies.

If you choose to share crash reports with app developers in your iPhone's settings, Apple may pass us anonymous crash reports. They contain technical details about the crash, not your logs.

What stays on your iPhone

Everything you log is saved in the app on your iPhone: periods, flow, symptoms, moods, tests, temperature, sex, medicines, notes and the rest of your daily log. Your setup answers and settings are saved there too: your name if you give one, birth year, goal, conditions, birth control details, pregnancy details, reminders and app settings.

Your setup answers and settings never leave your iPhone, not even to your iCloud. If you use iPhone backups (iCloud Backup or a computer), the app's data is part of those backups, like any other app's.

Your iCloud

If your iPhone is signed in to iCloud, Hame Cycle keeps a copy of your daily logs in your own private iCloud database. That's how your logs reach your other devices and come back if you reinstall the app. Only your logs sync; your setup answers and settings don't.

  • Encrypted. Each logged day (its date, everything you logged and when it changed) is encrypted on your iPhone before it's uploaded, and stored that way. If you turn on Advanced Data Protection for iCloud, only your devices hold the keys, so not even Apple can read it. Apple can still see that the records exist, roughly how many there are and when they were changed.
  • Yours, not ours. The copy is in your iCloud account, under Apple's terms. We have no access to it.
  • To turn it off, open the iPhone Settings app, tap your name, then iCloud, and switch off Hame Cycle in the list of apps using iCloud. Your logs then stay only on this iPhone.

Sharing with a partner

Partner sharing is off until you turn it on. When you do:

  • You choose each item to share: a name to show, your next period range, your cycle phase and day, your estimated fertile window, today's mood, and your pregnancy week and due date. Everything starts switched off, and Settings shows a preview of exactly what your partner will see.
  • Hame never shares your symptoms, notes, tests, temperatures, sex, flow details, medicines, weight or setup answers.
  • The summary goes to a shared space in your iCloud, using Apple's iCloud sharing. Only the people you invite can open it, and they can only read it. It's encrypted in the same way as your logs.
  • Your partner needs Hame Cycle and an Apple Account. Their app keeps your summary in memory only; it doesn't save it.
  • To stop, go to Settings in Hame Cycle and tap Stop sharing. This deletes the shared space from your iCloud, and your partner loses access straight away. Stop sharing before you delete the app: deleting the app doesn't stop a share.

Apple Health

Connecting Apple Health is optional, and you can skip it. If you connect it, you choose what Hame can read and write in Apple's permission screen.

  • What Hame reads and writes: periods, spotting, ovulation tests, pregnancy tests, cervical mucus, sexual activity (the day, and whether protection was used; no other details), basal body temperature and 27 symptoms (such as cramps, headache, bloating and fatigue).
  • Reading happens only when you connect Health or tap Import now. Hame brings in up to two years of entries from other apps. Imported entries become part of your Hame logs, so they also sync to your iCloud like everything else you log.
  • Writing happens each time you save a day, so your history stays in Health even if you delete Hame.
  • Moods, notes, medicines and other details stay in Hame and aren't written to Health.
  • Disconnecting in Hame stops syncing. You can change permissions any time in the Health app. Data in Apple Health is covered by Apple's privacy policy.

Reminders and app lock

  • Reminders are off until you turn one on. They're scheduled on your iPhone; nothing is sent from a server. By default they say only "Hame reminder", so nothing private shows on your lock screen. If you switch that off, a reminder names its subject (for example "Your period may start soon"), but never shows dates or numbers.
  • App lock (off by default) asks for Face ID, Touch ID or your passcode when you open the app, and hides the screen in the app switcher. If your iPhone has no passcode, the lock can't protect the app.
  • You can also switch to a quiet app icon in Settings.

When the app uses the internet

Hame Cycle has no servers, so it never sends anything to us. It connects only to Apple:

  • to sync your logs with your own iCloud (if your iPhone is signed in to iCloud)
  • to share and refresh your partner summary (only if you turn on partner sharing)
  • to open our support page, if you tap the support link

Predictions, insights, articles and everything else work on your iPhone, with or without a connection.

AI

Hame Cycle has no AI features today. If we add one, we'll update this policy first and explain where it runs.

Exporting your data

You can export your data any time from Settings: a JSON file with everything, a CSV with your main logs, or a PDF report for your clinician. Each file is made on your iPhone only when you ask, and leaves your iPhone only through the share sheet, to the place you pick. After that, the file is in the hands of whoever you sent it to.

Permissions the app asks for

PermissionWhyWhen
Apple HealthTo read and save periods, symptoms, tests and temperatureOnly if you connect Health
Face IDTo unlock the app when App lock is onOnly if you turn on App lock
NotificationsTo show the reminders you turn onOnly when you turn on a reminder

Hame Cycle never asks for your location, contacts, camera, microphone or photos, and never asks to track you.

Deleting your data

  • Delete everything: in Hame Cycle, go to Settings, then Your data, then Delete everything. This removes your logs, setup answers, settings and reminders from your iPhone, and stops partner sharing. While your iPhone is online and signed in to iCloud, the deletion also syncs to your iCloud and your other devices.
  • Apple Health: when you delete everything with Health connected, you can also remove what Hame saved to Health. You can always delete Hame's entries in the Health app too.
  • Your iCloud copy: to make sure it's gone, open the iPhone Settings app, tap your name, then iCloud, then the storage list, choose Hame Cycle and delete its data.
  • Deleting the app removes everything on your iPhone. It doesn't remove your iCloud copy, your Health entries or an active partner share, so stop sharing first and delete those as above if you want them gone.

We can't delete your data for you, because we never have it.

Children

We don't collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13. Hame Cycle works without an account and without sending anything to us.

Not medical advice

Hame Cycle is not a method of birth control and does not diagnose or treat any condition. Predictions are estimates based on what you log.

Changes to this policy

If the app changes how it handles data, we'll update this page before the change reaches you, and change the date at the top.
