What it does
- Log food fast from a big food database built into the app: everyday foods, and packaged products from the US and Canada.
- Scan a barcode, even with no signal. Nothing is looked up online.
- Snap a meal, say it, or describe it. AI names the foods and amounts, our database supplies the numbers, and you check the list before it's saved.
- Scan a nutrition label to add a food that isn't in the database.
- Quick add, your own foods, saved meals and recipes: build one, paste the ingredients, or import it from a web page. Copy meals and days.
- Calorie and macro goals from published formulas, explained in plain words. Set different goals for each day of the week and each meal, follow net carbs, and see targets for 40 nutrients.
- Track more than food: water, weight with a trend line, body measurements, progress photos, exercise, steps, sleep, blood sugar, medicines and how you feel.
- A fasting timer with a Lock Screen Live Activity.
- Plan the week's meals and get a grocery list.
- Progress charts and a weekly review.
- Apple Health both ways, with a switch for each type. Widgets, Siri and Shortcuts.
- Share with a buddy, if you want: a read-only summary of your days, and you choose what's in it.
- Export, back up and delete, whenever you like.
What it costs
Nothing. No ads, no in-app purchases, no subscription, no account. Meal photos, voice, barcodes, planning and every other feature are free.
AI runs where you choose
On your iPhone by default. On iPhones where Apple offers it, you can let harder photos go to Apple's Private Cloud. Or connect your own ChatGPT or Claude account: they bill you, Hame never does, and nothing is sent until you agree.
Your privacy
Your diary stays on your iPhone and in your own iCloud. No analytics, no tracking, and Hame has no servers, so we never see your data. Read the privacy policy.
Please note
Hame Food is not medical advice. Talk to a health professional about your diet.
Needs
An iPhone with iOS 26 or later. Some AI features need Apple Intelligence or a newer iOS. English for now.
